Atlantis

the conitnent of atlantis was an island
which lay before the great flood
in the area we now call the atlantic ocean
so great an area of land that from the western shores
those beautiful sailors journeyed to the south
an the north americas with ease
in their ships with painted sails
to the east africa was a neighbour
across a short strait of miles
the great egyptian age is but a remnant of the atlantic culture

Viele Leute haben Atlantis sonstwo gesucht, aber meiner Meinung nach lag es in Großbritannien. Diese Insel passt ganz gut zu Platons Beschreibung; selbst Städte mit konzentrischen Wall- und Grabenringen hat es dort gegeben. Natürlich ist GB nicht im Meer versunken, aber das tun Inseln der Größe nun mal nicht. Santorin könnte eine Kolonie von Atlantis gewesen sein, deren Untergang Platon schildert. Es geht also um zwei Inseln: eine große im Atlantik, die noch da ist (Großbritannien), und eine kleine im Mittelmeer, die hopsging (Santorin).

Die Zivilisation von Atlantis ist wohl auch mit den Elben identisch, von denen in der germanischen und keltischen Mythologie die Rede ist. Denn wenn man von Germanien aus nach Westen segelte, kam man nun mal nach Großbritannien.
Der keltische Name »Inis Albion« bedeutet »Insel der Elben«.

warum, warum, löffelstil...

Es ist ziemlich sicher, daß es Atlantis gab, aber es dürfte nur schwer festzustellen sein, wo sich Atlantis wirklich befand, und wann es genau unterging. Es gibt eine Theorie, nach der vor etwas über 9000 Jahren ein Kometenkern auf der Erde einschlug, der eine weltweite Sintflut auslöste, und daß dieser Impakt auch Atlantis auslöschte.
Interessant ist in diesem Zusammenhang, daß die Azteken glaubten, ihre Vorfahren seien aus einem Land namens »Aztlan« gekommen, daß jenseits des Meeres lag - Zufall?
