England

Ich mag die englische Sprache - aber vorzugsweise britisches Englisch. Die Engländer haben einen unheimlich interessanten Tonfall, der, je nach Sprecher und Situation desselben zwischen wahnsinnig arrogant und abgehoben und total schnoddrig und rotzig klingen kann. Absolut geil.

Ich bin grade in England - genauer gesagt, in Brighton - und was mir auffällt, sind die Unterschiede. Also zum Beispiel zwischen arm und reich, prollig und versnobt, Sun und Guardian usw.
England ist ein Land der Extreme, hier gibt es noch so richtige Klassenunterschiede - und das scheinen die Leute auch ganz in Ordnung zu finden. Ich denke, das hat was mit dem Staatsverständnis zu tun: es ist hier nicht - und das war es auch noch nie - Aufgabe des Staates, für eine Umverteilung zu sorgen. Selbst Labour hält sich da sehr zurück, und Maggie Thatcher...
Ich glaube, ich mag das nicht so richtig.

Noch eine andere Sache ist dieser Nationalstolz. Aber das ist wieder eine andere Geschichte :-)

Das Schulsystem in England ist anders als in Deutschland, aber cool. Ich war auf einem College in Middlesbrough, das liegt in der Nähe von Newcastle. Der dortige Akzent (also nun auch meiner *g*) klingt total gut (also Middlesbrough, NICHT Newcastle!!!). Und das College war sowieso einfach genial. Ohne Ende Computer. Und da ich in der 6th Form war, FREIE Fächerwahl, 3 Fächer mit jeweils 8 Stunden in der Woche, Computer überall, keine Schuluniform mehr... Also, Aufenthalte zum Schüleraustausch in England kann ich nur empfehlen! Allerdings sind sicher nicht alle Colleges so super ausgerüstet wie meines!

Sie fragte mich, ob ich nach England ziehen wolle; ich würde dort gut hinpassen. Ich fasse das mal als Kompliment auf.
