War ursprünglich ein Hörrohr, damit die im Tal verstehen konnten, was oben auf dem Berg gepredigt wurde. Erst viel später wurde daraus das Alphorn.

Ein Teil des christlich geprägten Nordamerika beginnt sich wieder, wie vor 20 Jahren in der Nachrüstungsdebatte, auf die Friedenspflicht der Bergpredigt zu besinnen und erinnert daran, dass die Feindesliebe des jungen Pazifisten aus Nazareth empfiehlt, klüger zu sein als der Feind und Gleiches nicht mit Gleichem zu vergelten. »Auge um Auge führt dazu, dass die ganze Welt blind wird«, stand in vor einigen Monaten auf einem christlichen Flugblatt in den USA.
